We are most grateful to Mr. Michael Neff from the Estate of Günther Förg for the information he has kindly provided for the catalogue.
It is through its colours that a painting begins to assume a truly enigmatic quality; these take one into the nervous system or the mood of the painting. That which seems to be clearly definable, in a formal sense, becomes infinitely mysterious through the addition of colour and the optical effect of colour.
