Enzo Cucchi (b. 1949)
Lot 107 Enzo Cucchi (b. 1949)

Born in Morro d’Alba, Ancona, in 1949, Cucchi was an important member of La Transavanguardia movement. The artist’s working practice was distinctly different from the other artists the Rossis had worked with before, involving a much more painterly approach on untraced plates. Monumental pieces including Immagine oscura offer an insight into the effects of layers of tone and colour - the absence of light and abundance of tone creates a dense, muted landscape.
