Mr. J. Werz, Antwerp or Roosendaal, presumably between 1925 and 1935, thence by descent, and acquired by the present owners in 1980.

Specialist note

The landscape in the print and painting may derive from a prototype by the french engraver Nicolas Perelle (1631-1695), after whom Nicolaes Visscher (1618-1709) made a series of comparable prints (Hollstein 50-61).
