Part 1 with full-page engraved portrait of Ruscelli, 21 large and 111 smaller engraved emblematic devices, many depicted within complex architectural scroll-work with allegorical figures, putti and grotesques. Folding engraved scene of the Battle of Mühlberg (1547). (Occasional light marginal dampstains). Contemporary French vellum, covers with large gilt arabesque, spine sparingly gilt, edges gilt (extremities of spine chipped and patched). Provenance: acquired from Lathrop C. Harper, 1974.
