Two antique gem-set brooches
The first modelled as a phoenix on a floral branch, set throughout with vari-cut emeralds, rubies and diamonds in foiled closed-back settings, extensive repairs, some stones later replacements, 5.0cm wide; the second modelled as a butterfly, the body set with table-cut diamonds in foiled-back settings, the wings decorated with vari-coloured enamel and diamond-set trefoil motifs, extensive re-enamelling, damages and repairs, 4.8cm long
