Specialist note

The 96-ton cutter Erycina was designed by William Fife II for Mr. Alfred Penn and built at their yard, Fife & Son, in Fairlie in 1882. Penn's yacht racing career was unfortunately short-lived as he died in 1889 at the age of 34.
