A.C. 1730. made up of twelve hand coloured engraved gores, graduated ecliptic, tropics and equator, the oceans showing Dampier's circumnavigation of 1699-1702 (incorrectly marked '1688') and Captain Cook's second voyage of 1772-5; the celestial cartouche GLOBUS COELESTIS NOVUS Loca stellarum fixarum sec. cel. IOH. HEVELIUS ad anum 1730 exhibens Opera I.G. DOPPELMAIERI MPP exacte concinatus Chaleographo Norib A.C. 1730; each with engraved paper horizon ring showing months, days and saints' days, supported by the four turned oak legs joined by stretchers, with circular plate.
