Specialist note

John Ferguson, registered at 499 tons was built on the Clyde in 1854 for John Kerr & Co. of Greenock. Along with her sistership Agnes Taylor (see lot 47), she was also put onto the trans-Atlantic trade between the Clyde and the West Indies.
