Meiji Period (late 19th century)
Intricately inlaid in Shibayama style with children in Chinese clothes amongst trees and flowers, the others with formal flower displays, each with wood frame decorated in gold hiramaki-e [low-relief lacquer] with stylised birds and flowers
The largest panel measures: 39 cm. (15 1/4in.) high; 25.8 cm. (10 1/4inc.) wide, the smallest: 30.5cm. (12in.) high; 22.8cm. (9in.) wide. (6)
