The following thirty-five lots represent almost the entire contents of 'Thatched Cottage' and were purchased very specifically for this small but idyllic location in the New Forest, a calm bolt-hole from London. They were purchased between 1998 and 2000 from a selection of sources including Avon Antiques, Bernard Gulley, Alistair Sampson and Christie's South Kensington.

Including two high-back armchairs, all with pierced splats turned underarm supports, figured elm seats and crinoline stretchers, one chair stamped NICHOLSON ROCKLEY, one high-back chair is ash not yew
