Christie's is honored to offer works from the collection of Carlton Lake (see lots 138, 201, 202, 222, 233 and 332), the longtime Paris art critic for The Christian Science Monitor. Mr. Lake also contributed to The New Yorker and The Atlantic Monthly, was curator at the Ransom Humanities Research Center, University of Texas, Austin, author of Confessions of a Literary Archaeologist and co-author, with Françoise Gilot, of her 1964 memoir, Life With Picasso.
