With fullered blade etched with regiment badges and the Royal Arms, steel hilt with traces of original plated finish and pierced with scrollwork and a 'VR' cypher, bullion sword-knot, and original wire-bound shagreen-covered grip; together with a dress sword for a Page of Honour, by Brunn, London, the plain double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, gilt-brass hilt including boat-shaped guard, original wire-bound grip, and original black leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts; and a court sword with blued and gilt double-edged blade, gilt-brass hilt including faceted urn-shaped pommel, original wire-bound grip, and original black-leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts

George FitzRoy Henry Somerset, 3rd Baron Raglan (1857-1921).

Specialist note

George Somerset, later 3rd Baron Raglan, served as a Page of Honour to Queen Victoria from 1868 until 1874.
Following his retirement from the Grenadier Guards Lord Raglan went on to served as Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) until 1908. The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) is the most senior regiment in the British territorial army having given continuous service since 1539 and is today the only remaining Militia unit in the British Army.
