George Somerset, later 3rd Baron Raglan, served as a Page of Honour to Queen Victoria from 1868 until 1874.
Following his retirement from the Grenadier Guards Lord Raglan went on to served as Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) until 1908. The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) is the most senior regiment in the British territorial army having given continuous service since 1539 and is today the only remaining Militia unit in the British Army.
