Designed with five rose-cut diamond flowerhead clusters each rose-cut diamond petal with smaller diamond border and each flowerhead with rose-cut diamond cross-shaped leaf spacing panel, removable for wear as a necklace with additional rose-cut diamond flower drop, circa 1890, (partially illustrated)

Formerly the property of Mrs Annie Claudine Mary Langton (nee Browne) born Isle of Wight 1878, daughter of Colonel Henry George Gore-Brown VC. Brown was awarded the Victoria Cross on 21 August 1857 during the siege of Lucknow. Annie Brown married Walter John Langton in June 1901 , part of the brewery family from the Isle of Wight. The tiara offered was apparently bought by her husband in 1920 and was placed in safe keeping during World War II in a safety deposite box and it was not until January 2011 that it again saw the light of day.
The portrait photograph of Mrs Annie Langton was taken in the attire that she wore when attending the Opera in London.
