Lot 47 Henry Korda was born in London in 1957, the son of the renowned Hungarian Art Director Vincent Korda who had also made a successful living as a painter before working in films. Due to his background Korda grew up in a very creative household, living between Chelsea and Antibes, France. Korda studied at the City and Guilds, London as well as at the Royal Academy Schools. Korda's colourful work often revolves around family life and domestic settings including swimming pools. His landscapes are inspired by the French countryside particularly Auvergne where he lives for part of each year.
