Cal. 1556 nickel-finished lever moement, 26 jewels, mono-metallic balance, gilt dial, applied baton numerals, luminescent accents, luminescent hands, magnified date aperture, sector for day, center seconds, tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case, reeded bezel, screw down crown, screw back, case, dial and movement signed

Specialist note

Rolex introduced the reference 1803 in 1961 and continued production until approximately 1978. The manufacturer introduced a new reference system for the Day-Date model with 1803 referring to a yellow, white or pink gold model with reeded bezel and plexiglass crystal. The reference 1802 had a polished bezel, while 1804 referred to platinum examples, 1806 in yellow gold with a Tuscan finished case and the reference 1807 in yellow or pink gold with bark effect.
