Specialist note

Humphrey Repton's (1752-1818) eldest son, John Adey Repton (1775-1860), was born in Norwich and educated at Aylsham grammar school. He collaborated with his pioneering landscape architect father on many schemes and was an assistant to the architect John Nash (1752-1835).
John Adey's legacy can be seen to this day at Corsham Court (1797-8), Luscombe in Dorset (commissioned by the banker Charles Hoare), Bayam Abbey (1800), Magdalen College (1801), and Aspley Wood Lodge (1810) on the Woburn estate.
