A PAIR OF MINTONS MAJOLICA TURQUOISE-GROUND 'CHINESE' VASES

Two vases of this form were displayed in A.B. Daniell & Son's booth at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition (see the steroptic image reproduced above). Christopher Dresser originally designed this 'Chinese bottle' form for the London International Exhibition of 1862.
