Shaped oval, the gadrooned rim with leaves and shells at intervals, the border engraved with a coat-of-arms within a garter, beneath a Baron's coronet, marked on reverse

Specialist note

The arms are those of Belhaven, for Robert Montgomery Hamilton, 8th Lord Belhaven and Stenton KT (1793-1868), a Scottish peer and politician. In 1861 he was invested as a Knight of the Thistle.
