With curved single-edged fullered blade double-edged towards the point and decorated on each side with gilt trophies and inscriptions against a blued ground, the inscriptions stating DURRIEU ANTOINE CHEF DE BATAILLON on one side and AIDE DE CAMP DU GENERAL LAMARQUE on the other, the back-edge signed KLINGENTHAL at the forte, gilt brass hilt with pierced and scrolled knuckle-guard and short downcurved rear quillon, and fluted hardwood grip, in original leather scabbard with chased gilt brass mounts and two rings for suspension
