Worked in coloured wools after Frans Snyders, depicting an old woman selling peaches to a fashionable lady, in a George II pine and parcel-gilt frame, with Greek-key design, in the manner of Colen Campbell

Specialist note

The design is taken from Frans Snyders' painting Fruit Stall, circa 1618-1621, which hung at Houghton Hall, Norfolk, in the collection of Sir Robert Walpole in the 18th century.
