Ruhlmann designed this model for the Restaurant Drouant in 1924. He subsequently used the design in other important commissions, including the Grand Salon of the Hótel du Collectionneur at the 1924 Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes and on the steamship Ile de France.
