How to sell

AN URBINO OR LYON MAIOLICA ISTORIATO DISH
EARLY 17TH CENTURY, PERHAPS PATANAZZI WORKSHOP
Painted with a biblical scene with a King seated on an elaborately scrolled throne flanked by figures and canopied tents, within a manganese line and ochre band rim, the reverse inscribed EXODE·XV·/·III· in dark blue (hairline crack from rim at 10 o'clock, the footrim slightly ground)
10 5/8 in. (27 cm.) diam.

Specialist note

The similarity between Patanazzi workshop pieces with those made in Lyon is striking, and some pieces which were previously attributed to Lyon are now currently thought to have been executed in the Patanazzi workshop in Urbino from French prints by Bernard Salomon.
