Supplied by Ernest Gimson to his friend and patron the Arts & Crafts architect Robert Weir Shultz for The Barn, Hartley Witney, Hampshire, and then by descent at The Barn until 2005.

Specialist note

This chair formed part of a suite published in photographs of The Barn in 1911 and illustrated in W.R Lethaby's 'Ernest Gimson', 1924.
