Scalloped oval, the cover set circa 1860 with an openwork trellis of rubies and diamonds centering a diamond-set Turkish crescent and star, the interior cover and the base each with radiating flower-painted panels centering scenes of the Bosphorus against a guilloché opalescent sky, the interior cover probably the original top cover turned over, the interior base marked three times with maker's mark and standard mark 18K
