With its unusual bombé-shaped outline and inwardly-curving sides and the fine marquetry details in tulipwood and fruitwood this commode can be compared with several examples from Berlin, Schloss Charlottenburg and Neues Palais in Potsdam Sanssouci, shown in H. Kreisel, Die Kunst des deutschen Möbels, part II, Munich 1970, fig. 755, 757, 758.
