The rectangular top of stepped outline inset with a red leather and gilt-tooled writing surface, the carved moulded edge above three frieze drawers, the frieze to each side with card-cut lattice decoration in the Chinese taste, below acanthus-headed cluster columns flanking an arrangement of three drawers to each side, the drawers to the left pedestal each fitted with divisions, on a plinth base, the locks to the drawers stamped 'Milner's/Safe Company/Limited', one drawer inscribed in chalk to the underside 'Reid Glasgow' and another drawer with a depository label to the underside 'Robertson Bros Ltd. Woking/Reid No. 46.'
