Lot 480 Fausto Melotti's elegantly diminutive, finely wrought sculptures employ curved, flat and linear shapes that perch upon thin metal rods. Sometimes only barely asserting their identity as material objects, they dispense with not only the monumentality but even the physical mass of traditional sculpture. His innate feeling for rhythm is reflected by impalpable lines, condensing poetry and music with a dynamic and vision. Melotti achieves this great sculptural ambition of drawing in space.
