Specialist note

The second signature on this painting - '[J?] van Os' - would appear to have been added later. Nicholaus Baur and Jan van Os (Middelharnis 1744-1808 The Hague) are not known to have collaborated, and, furthermore, the painting would appear to be dated after van Os's death in 1808.
