POSSIBLY ELSA SCHIAPARELLI

The design and fabric of this ensemble very closely resemble an illustration in the holdings of the Brooklyn Museum, unsigned, which made up the collection of the Henri Bendel department store in New York City. Bendel bought designs in Paris to copy in the US. The box contained designed from Christian Dior, Mainbocher and several of the best couture houses in Paris, including Schiaparelli.
