Gifted by the artist to the present owner in 1959.

Specialist note

The present owner chose Lowry as a subject for her dissertation. As a consequence of this, she met him and visited his home regularly. Lots 46-49 were given to her personally by Lowry when she completed her dissertation in 1959.
