Richly flavoured bottles preceding Kaplan's 33 '82s claret dinner in April 1997. The following month, with the Bacchus Society at Krug: now golden; nose deep, rich and smoky, settling down to a soft creaminess; fairly sweet, fully flavoured. The sort of wine that glories in a good dose of bottle age. Most recently, an intriguing bottle opening a wine dinner at home: medium-pale straw gold with continuous spray of fine bubbles; bouquet of bitter walnuts; medium-dry, strongly scented old straw flavour. very distinctive, attractive.
