The red guilloché enamel ground overlaid with six large rose-cut diamond-set scroll panels, each enclosing delicate diamond-set vines, the foot similarily decorated, in fitted green case with gilt borders, marked with spurious Russian standard mark for St. Petersburg and a workmaster's mark in Cyrillic
2½ in. (6.2 cm.) high

Specialist note

A Swiss snuff box decorated for the Turkish market with identical red guilloché enamel and set with a closely-related diamond-set floral spray within diamond borders is in the Gilbert Collection, Somerset House, London, illustrated in Charles Truman, The Gilbert Collection of Gold Boxes, 1991, fig. 124, pp. 354-355.
