專家說明
The model is taken from a cast of a pail excavated from Herculaneum. Discoveries from the ruins of Herculaneum and Pompeii throughout the 18th and 19th centuries generated immense interest in the Antique, resulting in a burgeoning market for copies. Several Naples-based firms marketed these keepsakes to travelers on their Grand Tour, the most famous of which was Fonderia Chiurazzi, with its popular shop in the arcade opposite the National Archaeological Museum.
