專家說明

The initials on the present cann are said to be those of Mary Stevenson (1739-1795), the daughter of Benjamin Franklin's landlady, Margaret Stevenson, during his residence in London from 1757 to 1762. Following the death of her husband William Hewson, Mary Stevenson moved to Philadelphia with the help of Franklin in 1786, and was at his bedside at the time of his death.
