An inscription on the reverse of the stretcher identifies the sitter as 'The Honble Mr Blundell', presumably The Hon. Montague Blundell (d. 1733), the only son of Montague, 1st Viscount Blundell (see lot 127) and Mary Chetwynd (see lot 128), who predeceased his parents.
