One of the last great butterfly books to be issued with hand-coloured plates, this is a particularly handsome set bound in an arts and crafts style. Nissen ZBI 236.
11 volumes, large octavo (248 x 170mm). Half-titles, supplementary index bound in at end of final vol., 504 hand-coloured lithographic plates (a very clean copy). Slightly later quarter morocco over drab boards, vellum tips, spines tooled in an arts and crafts style (extremities only a fraction rubbed).
