Following a short period during which his paintings seemed to tend towards automatic informalism, he suddenly discovered achromatism, his spasmodically white paintings. And only one definition is valid for these - zones of confluence. This time, however, his pictorial sense has completely disappeared - as a matter of fact, they are endlessly long, interminable lines. One is 110 ft. 4 ins. long, another 65 ft. 7 ins. long and another 29 ft. 6 ins., and others. Traced on strips of paper and then rolled up, these lines are inserted into cardboard tubes, suitably coloured and sealed, and the length of each is marked on the container, but it refers to the title rather than actual length. It is enough to say that one of the lines exhibited is just called "endless" nevertheless, it does not differ from the others for, just like the others, it springs and lives from a irresistible impulse that carries away. On the other hand, isn't a line an infinite number of seconds rushing into space? In front of these works, all useless chatter concerning painting, transitions and beloved returns fades - exhausted are the memory-fascination of celebrated things and the call of historical titles so dear to embalmers. At last time has become a visible and contributory elements in art, too. In each of these lines, predominant is the immediate and irresistible embrace of Kierkegaard's Eros - an unending embrace that never consumes itself in experimental sensism, though - a catharsis that geometrically repeats itself beyond the present and beyond useless expression.
