According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch was sold in 1995.
This very rare stainless steel reference 25654ST of which only 272 examples were made, features a stunning ‘opaline grey’ dial. The combination of steel case and silvery grey dial is certainly one of the most attractive variations of the perpetual calendar Royal Oak. The 39 mm. diameter ‘Jumbo’ case with thickness of 8.25 mm. is in excellent overall condition with sharp angles and bevels and clear crisp engravings to the case back which displays the D-series serial number and individual number '990' along with the inscription ‘Royal Oak Quantième Perpétuel Automatique’.
This fine stainless steel version of the AP Quantieme Perpetuel automatic is both visually striking and highly wearable, yet at the same time a complicated and significant AP heritage timepiece. It is furthermore equipped with a steel band of best quality without any stretch.
800 examples of the reference 25654 were made by Audemars Piguet including 422 in yellow gold; 272 in steel; 72 in two-tone; 33 in platinum, and one in white gold.
