A DUTCH DELFT POLYCHROME 'GENRE' PLAQUE

The central two figures of this scene are taken from an engraving titled Two Women Sewing by Geertruydt Roghman (1625 - 1651⁄57) from a series of scenes of "feminine occupations" dated circa 1648-1650. A copy of this print is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (Inv. No. RP-P-OB-4228).
