專家說明

This lot includes four of the fifty illustrations by Jost Amman for Wenzel Jamnitzer's book on perspective, published in Nuremberg in 1568: Plate E. V (Two Octahedrons); Plate E.VI (Two stereometric Solids); Plate G.V (Two transparent Spheres); and Plate I.III (A stereometric Construction).
Wenzel Jamnitzer was the most celebrated goldsmith of his time, and served several Holy Roman Emperors. Amman's etchings are based on Jamnitzer's drawings, which in turn were drawn from three-dimensional models Jamnitzer had created out of paper and wood. The Perspectiva Corporum Regularium is the most elaborate and opulently illustrated book on perspective of the second part of the 16th century.
