The shape of this vase, with the center of gravity so far down the lower body, would have been extremely difficult to fire successfully, without the body sagging or leaning to one side. A ‘robin’s-egg’-glazed Yongzheng mark-and-period example of this shape from the Baofang Pavillion Collection was sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 29 May 2019, lot 2807.
