專家說明
This stunning "pink on pink" reference 1549 retailed by Tiffany & Co. is entirely fresh to the market and is presented here for the very first time at international auction. According to research, reference 1549 was produced in 1942 and for one year only - the present specimen is believed to be the only example to have survived.
On close inspection of the movement we can see the import stamp, PXP, which tells us that this watch was made specifically for the American market and therefore absolutely correct for a Tiffany & Co. signed watch. The PXP mark was used by Patek Philippe during the 1940s and 1950s to identify watches made for the American market.
Beyond its phenomenal rarity, the aesthetic effect imparted to the timepiece by its pink dial and straight cylindre hoods lugs combination is astounding, render this timepiece a remarkable find at auction.
