專家說明

This endangered species strap is shown for display purposes only and is not for sale. The watch will be supplied with a calf leather strap.

The Tank wristwatch was created by Louis Cartier in 1917 during World War I. With a name firmly associated with horology and Cartier, the present Tank wristwatch is cased in platinum and part of a limited edition of 150 examples made to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Cartier in 1997. It is inspired by the historical Tank à Guichet model launched in the late 1920s, the first Cartier Jumping hour wristwatch, which attracted the likes of many including the Maharaja of Patiala, a great patron of Cartier.

In very good overall condition, the wristwatch features an unpolished case. Consigned by a private collector, the present watch has been preserved with care and is furthermore fresh to the auction market.

This model is illustrated and described in Cartier - The Tank Watch, by Franco Cologni, pp. 206 & 250.
