Cette esquisse peinte réalisée par Jean Touzé, l’un des élèves de Jean-Baptiste Greuze, est une première pensée pour un dessin de même composition récemment redécouvert grâce à sa mention dans une vente du XVIIIe siècle (Paris, 21 novembre 1785, lot 144) et aujourd’hui à la galerie Talabardon & Gautier (Salon du dessin, mars 2019).
