Andy Warhol (1928-1987)

Dedicated on the reverse of the painting to Marina Schiano, a muse of Yves Saint Laurent’s, this Dollar Sign is a prime example of how Andy Warhol was fond of gifting his small paintings to close friends and acquaintances. Andy was said to be quite enraptured by Schiano and even put her on the cover of Interview magazine in 1980, just one year before dedicating this painting to her.
