At the Baselworld 2014, more than 75 years after their first pilot’s watch, Oris launched one of the most innovative pilot’s watch in its history – the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter, the world’s first automatic mechanical watch with a mechanical Altimeter. It has been developed as a high-performance instrument for pilots, mountaineers, explorers and research scientists, who work at altitude. Its sturdy, 47-mm. multi-piece stainless steel case houses an automatic movement, and a Swiss mechanical barometric altimeter and barometer movement developed with Thommen Aircraft Equipment, Swiss based firm specialized in aviation instruments.
