En 1929, Robert Mallet-Stevens érige un immeuble au 7 rue Mechain, dans le XIVe arrondissement de Paris. Les verrières sont signées Louis Barillet, deux portes sont réalisées par Jean Prouvé. L’architecte décorateur conçoit également l'aménagement et le mobilier de tous les appartements, dont celui qu’occupera l’artiste Tamara de Lempicka. Depuis 1984, le bâtiment est inscrit à l’inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques.
In 1929, the architect and designer, Robert Mallet-Stevens, raised a building at 7 rue Méchain in Paris’ 14th arrondissement. The glasswork was assigned to Louis Barillet and the execution of two doors to Jean Prouvé. The architect also designed the interiors and furnishings of all the apartments, including Tamara de Lempicka’s residence. The building has been ranked as a historic monument since 1984.
