"From vineyards near the city of Funchal, next to the old family house. Unfortunately these vineyards now don’t exist anymore. Deep old golden color. Intense nose of dried apricots, spices, complex multi layered nose. Rose petals. Smoky tones, roasted hazelnuts. Well matured wine, great balance and long lingering taste. Great Sercial. Rounded taste, full flavored, fine acidity that is well integrated with the intense taste. 19.5/20. Exceedingly rare. Only 9 bottles remain from the original stock." EV, July 2015.
