Each with cornucopia issuing acanthus wrapped candle-arms surmounted by an urn with conforming scrolled foliate supports and with chain and tassel suspensions, two stamped No.15 to the upper edge of the reverse of the cornucopia, later wired for electricity, chain suspensions replaced, minor variations to casting and chasing, one pair with more burnishing to the leaves
25 in. (63 cm.) high, 16 ½ in. (42 cm.) wide, 9 ½ in. (24 cm.) deep

While the cornucopia aspect of the design of these wall-lights echoes a neo-classical aesthetic, the rich scrolling arms wrapped with acanthus surmounted by an urn, reflect the avant garde goût grec designs of the 1760s and 1770s produced by influential ornemanistes. The combination of the surmounting urn motif alongside the acanthus scrolls and foliage wrapped candle arms and nozzles recall the designs of Jean-Louis Prieur, Jean-Charles Delafosse or even the later work of Phillippe Caffieri.
Some very similar examples were sold at Christie's Paris, 6 November 2015, lot 662, at Sotheby’s New York, 28 March 1987, lot 17 and at Sotheby’s New York, 18 October 1963, lot 741.
