Charles Francis Bell (1871-1966) was the first keeper of Fine Art at the Ashmolean Museum, and shaped the career of the art historian Kenneth Clark (1903-1983), amongst others. He was the nephew of Sir Edward Poynter, P.R.A. (1836-1919).
